Meet by the Peartree Farm Tea Room in Aldwincle (between Oundle and Thrapston), map/grid ref. 224/TL007817 (park along road) at 10:30. Walk through Titchmarsh Nature Reserve to Islip for a pub stop then loop back, with views over the lakes, to Aldwincle. An ideal walk for newcomers.

Sun 25th August - Market Bosworth, Leicestershire
Meet at Bosworth Battlefield car park (west of Leicester, charge £2.50) Map/grid ref: 232/SK402001, at 11.00. A full day out walking and sightseeing around the Battle of Bosworth Country Park, Ashby de la Zouch Canal, the Battlefield Line Steam Railway and Whitemoors Antiques Centre and Tea Rooms! Anyone wishing to visit the Exhibition Centre please arrive earlier (it opens at 10am, cost £7.95 each) so walk can start on time. We will be spending a little time at the Visitor Centre but not enough to go around the exhibition. Bring rations.

Sun 20th October - Castle Bytham Walk and Lunch
Meet by the Duck Pond in Castle Bytham map/grid ref. 248/SK989186, at 10:00. Proof that South Lincolnshire isn't all flat! A circular walk starting in Castle Bytham, passing the former cricket ground (possibly one of the most scenic in Britain), Thunderbolt Pit, then a short section of road walking into the village of Little Bytham (some railway history), then following a permissive footpath along the West Glen river to Creeton, then back to Castle Bytham, via Lawn Wood. There is a decent sized village store (selling Nelson's and Grasmere sausages) open 08:00-12:30 on Sunday in Castle Bytham and Little Bytham also has a very twee general store "The No 10 Shop", open 9:30-12:30 on Sunday, for those that need to stock up their rucksacks or larders! There are two pubs in Castle Bytham, The Castle Inn and the Fox and Hounds. The Castle Inn do a Sunday lunch for £8.95 and would welcome a group of walkers. Lunch served 12:00 - 14:00, pub closes at 15:00 so would aim to be there for 13:00. THIS WILL NEED BOOKING IN ADVANCE AS THEY DO GET BUSY! I will try and do this around 6 weeks in advance.
