Sunday 26th January 2014 - Ashby Follville circular walk. Joint Walk with Peterborough Ramblers
Meet by the Carrington Arms in Ashby Follville (south of Melton Mowbray), map/grid ref. 246/ SK707119, at 10:30. Road parking is limited in the village. Walk takes in the villages of Twyford, Burrough on the Hill and Thorpe Satchville along the Leicestershire Round. No pub stop enroute, lunch stop at an Iron Age hill fort (weather dependent).

Sunday 9th February 2014 - Woolsthorpe by Belvoir
Meet by the village shop, Main Street, Woolsthorpe by Belvoir (west of Grantham), map/grid ref. 247/ SK838342, at 10:30. A circular walk over to Belvoir Castle, taking in the views of the vale before dropping down to walk to Muston (possibly stopping at the Old Forge Tea Rooms) then on to the Grantham - Nottingham canal, past Woolsthorpe Wharf and the delights of the Rutland Arms (also known as The Dirty Duck) before a last climb up into Woolsthorpe and the welcome retreat of the Chequers Arms.

Walk through rolling fields with views across the surrounding countryside to the picturesque parkland of Wimpole Estate. There is no pub but there will be a stop for cake at the National Trust tearoom.

Sunday 6th April 2014 - Stamford to Oakham Linear Walk
Meet at the train station in Stamford, map/grid ref. 234/ TF029066, at 09:30. This walk follows some of the Hereford way which takes us from Stamford into Rutland and around the water to Oakham where we will have some refreshments before returning to Stamford/Peterborough by public transport. Saturday - Kilburn circular walk [10-11 miles]
Meet at the Forresters Arms in Kilburn at 10:30. Parking is restricted due to some narrow roads etc so try and share. Walk to Byland Abbey then climb up into woodland, back down into the next valley and a steep but short climb to Scotch Corner chapel for lunch. Walk onto the top of the moors over to Sutton Bank where there is a visitor centre where there are loos etc. Finally back down to Kilburn via the white horse.
Sunday - Helmsley circular walk [10-11 miles]
Meet at the town square near the memorial at 10:30, there is a public car park in the town. Walk to Rievaulx Abbey taking in the River Rye and part of the Cleveland way, then a steady climb up onto the Moors. There is a bit of road walking then back down through woodland into Beckdale for an easy return.
Monday Walk - Helmsley circular walk [4 miles]
Meet at the Youth Hostel at 10:30. Short walk up and down the River Ricall, can be extended by 2 or 3 miles if anyone wants a longer walk.

Sunday 1st June 2014 - Bourne Wood and Surroundings
Meet at the main car park, Bourne Wood, map/grid ref: 248/TF080202, at 10:30. A circular walk over the hill and through the fields, via Lound to Scottlethorpe, then Edenham, resting for a well earned drink at the Five Bells in Edenham, before the final 2 miles home through the delightful Bourne Wood.

Saturday 7th June 2014 - London Summer Walk and Social
Meet at "The Meeting Place" statue just inside St Pancras Station front entrance map/grid ref: 173/TQ301829, at 10.30 am. An option of using First Capital Connect or East Coast Trains to get to Kings Cross. Join PYW for a walking tour of the sights of London. The route includes Regents Park, Oxford Street, Marble Arch, Buckingham Palace, Leicester Square, Whitehall, Parliament Square (Big Ben), the London Eye, National Theatre, Tate Modern , Shakespeare Globe, Tower Bridge, and the Tower of London before catching the tube back to Kings Cross or for a meal in the Covent Garden/China Town area for those who wish. On the walk there will be the option to go up The Shard to the viewing area on floor 72. Booking required so please contact the walkleader beforehand for further details.

Sunday 15th June 2014 - Gaddesby, Leicestershire
Meet by the Cheney Arms pub in Gaddesby (park in streets nearby), map/grid ref: 246/SK687129, at 10:30. Continuation of the Leicestershire round starting out from the village of Gaddesby and taking in the Leicestershire countryside to the village of Frisby on the Wreake for a pub stop. Then onwards to Hoby for a lunch stop by the River Wreake (depending on the weather). Generally a pretty flat walk with gently undulating hills, no strenuous climbing. Gaddesby is approximately 1 hour West of Peterborough

Meet outside The Falcon public house in Fotheringhay, PE8 5HZ at 19:00. The walk takes in stretches of the River Nene around Elton Mill and Warmington Mill and lock before finishing near the site of the former Fotheringhay castle and retiring to The Falcon.

Meet by Moorhen pub in Hampton Vale, map/grid ref: 227/TL168942, at 10:30. Parking available near the shops and nearby streets, but as this is a linear walk, why not come by bus? Take the number 6 from Queensgate bus station bay 8 at 09:45(STC). The walk will be a linear walk to Central Peterborough via some beautiful spots on our doorstep, along tracks and through parks with hopefully more than one pub stop, finishing at Charters pub who often have events on Sunday afternoons.

Meet at the main car park in Ampthill Park (between Luton and Bedford), map/grid ref: 193/TL024381, at 10:30. This walk passes through some of the most beautiful countryside in Bedfordshire and explores well wooded and undulating landscapes and also the attractive villages of Millbrook and Lidlington.
