Sunday 10th January 2016 - Hambleton Peninsular - Rutland Water
Meet outside the Finch's Arms in Upper Hambleton, map/grid ref. 234/SK901076 (park in streets nearby) at 10:30. An easy walk on good footpaths makes this an ideal opportunity to come along and meet Peterborough Younger Walkers and start your New Year resolutions. Sunday 24th January 2016 - Burrough-on-the-Hill, Leics
Meet at the church in Burrough-on-the-Hill (west of Oakham off the A606 Melton road), map/grid ref: 246/SK757107 at 10:30. A circular walk via Thorpe Satchville to the remains of the iron age hill fort and country park at Burrough Hill, returning via the village of Somerby with potential for a pub stop.

Sunday 7th February 2016 - Edenham and Grimsthorpe, Lincs

Meet outside St Michael's & All Saints Church, Edenham (west of Bourne on the A151), map/grid ref. 248/TF061218 at 10:30. Walk through Grimsthorpe Park and out to Creeton and on to Swinstead then returning through the parkland with views of the Castle.

Sunday 21st February 2016 - Lyddington Figure of Eight, Rutland
Meet outside The Old White Hart public house in Lyddington (off the A6003 approx 2 miles south of Uppingham), park in streets near by, map/grid ref: 234/SP875969 at 10:30. The morning walk takes us north east to Bisbrooke and Seaton. The afternoon walk takes us south west to the Eyebrook Reservoir.

Sunday 6th March 2016 - Grantchester and Cambridge
Meet outside the Church of St. Andrew & St. Mary in Grantchester (off the M11 just south of Cambridge), map/grid ref: 209/TL433554 at 10:30. Follow in the footsteps of poet Rupert Brooke as we follow the river Cam's meanderings through woods and meadows to Cambridge and back.

Sunday 17th April 2016 - Barnwell - Northamptonshire
Meet outside the Montagu Arms pub in Barnwell (off the A605 between Oundle and Thrapston, village hall car park behind the pub), map/grid ref: 225/TL050848 at 10:30. A circular walk through lovely countryside, with potential lunchtime pub stop at Great Gidding. The walk can be shortened if it turns out to be very muddy at the time.

Sunday 1st May 2016 - Gaddesby, Leicestershire
Meet by the Cheney Arms public house in Gaddesby (park in streets nearby), map/grid ref: 246/SK687129, at 10:30. Starting out from the village of Gaddesby and taking in the Leicestershire countryside to the village of Frisby on the Wreake for a pub stop and lunch (pub serves food). Then onwards to Hoby by the River Wreake, generally a pretty flat walk with gently undulating hills, no strenuous climbing. Gaddesby is approximately 1 hour West of Peterborough between Melton and Leicester.

Meet at the Angel public house in Yarwell, map/grid ref: 234/TL070977, at 10:30. We will walk through Sulehay woods to Elton, stopping briefly at The Crown, then back to Yarwell.

Wednesday 18th May 2016 - Ferry Meadows Evening Walk (the outer bits)
Meet in the car park at The Woodman pub, Thorpe Wood, Peterborough map/grid ref: 227/TL159980 (PE3 6SQ) at 19:00. A circular walk around the outskirts of Ferry Meadows taking in Bluebell Wood, the River Nene, Gunwade Lake, Nene Valley Railway and Orton Lock before returning to the Woodman for some well earned refreshment.

Sunday 26th June 2016 - Belton-in-Rutland Circular Walk
Meet by the Church / Sun Inn public house in Belton­-in-­Rutland (off the A47 past Uppingham) map/grid ref. 234/SK816013 at 10:30. A good circular walk through picturesque Rutland villages and countryside. Out to Brooke and Braunston-in-Rutland then west to Withcote Hall before picking up the Leicestershire Round to return, skirting Launde Abbey.

Sunday 10th July 2016 - St Ives and the River Ouse, Huntingdonshire
Meet at the town centre end of the large Cattlemarket car park in St Ives just off the A1096 (PE27 5BW, free parking on Sundays) map/grid ref: 225/TL316712 at 10:30. After a short stretch along the guided busway we will walk through Fen Drayton RSPB Reserve to Swavesey for a pub stop, returning along the River Ouse.

Meet at the Toft Country House Hotel (parking TBA), between Stamford and Bourne, map/grid ref: 234/TF068171 (PE10 0JT) at 19:00. A circular walk out to Lound then following an old railway cutting before returning to Toft. Hills providing fine views over the Lincolnshire Fens, weather permitting.

Sunday 7th August 2016 - Barrowden, Rutland
Meet outside the Exeter Arms public house in Barrowden (off the A47 near Morcott), map/grid ref. 233/SK946001, at 10:30. A varied walk through Wakerly woods, out to Blatherwyke then following Willow Brook to Kings Cliffe, returning via Westhay Wood, Duddington and then picking up part of the Rutland Round for the final leg. Plenty of opportunities for a pub stop en-route.

Meet outside the Village Hall in Folksworth, map/grid ref: 227/ TL147898 (PE7 3SU) at 19:00 for a walk via the fields to Washingley and Caldecote before returning to Folksworth.

Sunday 21st August 2016 - Harley Way, Oundle and Brigstock
Meet at entrance to Fermyn Woods (between Oundle and Brigstock), opposite the gliding club, map/grid ref. 234/SP963858 at 10:30. This walk starts on the Harley Way and takes us through Lower Benefield, Lyveden New Bield, Wadenhoe, Aldwincle and back through Titchmarsh and Fermyn Woods. Lunch opportunities either the Kings Head pub or the Old Barn cafe in Wadenhoe. For those wishing to do a shorter walk, Dean has thought of two alternatives offering 6 and 9 mile options. Weekend away 27-29 August 2016 - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire
The August Bank Holiday weekend will be spent in West Yorkshire based in Hebden Bridge.
We will arrive there on Friday evening with walks planned for Saturday and Sunday with a shorter one on Monday before heading home. It is anticipated that one walk will be from Haworth (9 miles up the road) out to Top Withins (a well known Bronte walk) with time in Haworth afterwards, and the other two will probably be from Hebden itself.

Sunday 4th September 2016 - Burnham Deepdale, Norfolk Coastal Walk
Meet near the Church at Burnham Deepdale, map/grid ref. 250 and 251/TF804443, at 10:30. A linear walk to Wells Next-to-Sea, East via Deepdale Marsh, Peddars Way and Coastal Path to Burnham Ovary for pub stop, then Ovary Marshes, Holkham Gap, Wells Lifeboat Station, Wells Next-to-Sea. Coasthopper bus back to start point.

Sunday 18th September 2016 - Corby Glen, Lincolnshire
Meet in market place (by pub) Corby Glen (off the A151 between Colsterworth and Bourne) map/grid ref. 248/SK999250, at 10:30. Street parking in Station road and in market place. A circular walk initially heading north, passing close to Bitchfield to just beyond Ingoldsby Wood before returning via Ingoldsby village. There is no pub on the route but The Fighting Cock in Corby Glen market place is open all day (food until 3pm) for refreshment afterward.

Meet outside the The Wheatsheaf Inn, Burley Road, Langham, map/grid ref. 234/SK846112 (LE15 7HY) at 10:30. Walking via Ashton, to Whissendine where there is a pub stop opportunity (The White Lion) and a nice windmill (possibly open) before walking back to Langham over some of Rutland's gentle undulations. Pub stop at the end for those who need recuperation.

Sunday 16th October 2016 - Woolsthorpe Wharf, Grantham
Meet in the car park of The Dirty Duck public house (near Woolsthorpe by Belvoir, Grantham) map/grid ref. 247/SK842351, at 10:30. A circular walk along the Grantham canal part of the Viking Way to Belvoir Castle via Muston then along Jubilee Way to Woolsthorpe village. Passing through the Chequers pub up a short climb to a small woods which then re-joins the Viking Way to the canal and the starting point.

Meet at the Woolpack Inn in Islip (off the A605 at Thrapston) map/grid ref. 224/SP990786, at 10:30. Park in road alongside pub. A circular walk south taking in the River Nene and Stanwick Lakes via Woodford, Ringstead and Denford. Lunch stop at pub in Great Addington.

Sunday 13th November 2016 - Great Massingham, Norfolk. Distance: 7 miles
A scenic 7 mile walk through rolling Norfolk countryside, including farm land, heath land and a section of the Peddars Way. Meet at 10:30 am in Great Massingham (B1145 from King’s Lynn via Gayton) map/grid ref. Explorer 250/TF798229 and park in the village centre around the ponds. Pub stop at the Dabbling Duck at the end.

Sunday 27th November 2016 - Edenham, near Bourne. Distance: 9.5 miles
Meet at 10:30 am at Edenham, just northwest of Bourne on the A151. Park in the village and meet outside the Five Bells pub. Map/grid ref. Explorer 248/TF061218. This favourite circular walk will go via Grimesthorpe Park and through the villages of Swinstead and Creeton.

Sunday 11th December 2016 - Thaxted, near Saffron Walden, Essex. Distance 6.5 miles
This is a new walk for PYW, join Sarah for this lovely walk from Thaxted around the rolling Essex countryside. Meet outside the Guildhall in Thaxted at 10:30 am, map/grid ref. Explorer 195/TL611309. There is plenty of free parking in the town of Thaxted.
