Sunday 1st January 2017 - New Year's Day Walk - Stamford
To blow away the New Year's Eve cobwebs, please join Ian on this shorter walk (approx. 7 miles) that will start at 11:30 am from Stamford Bath Row Car Park map/grid ref: 234/TF027069. Parking is free on New Year's Day. Walking along the banks of the River Welland to Uffington, then climbing North towards Belmesthorpe, before heading West to meet the MacMillan Way, giving good views over the valley as we drop back down into Stamford. The walk will finish with a visit to one of Stamford's wonderful hostelries.

Sunday 5th February 2017 - Wymondham, Leicestershire
The walk will start at the Berkeley Arms pub, Wymondham, map/grid ref: 247/SK852188 at 10:30. Park on main street through village; the South Witham side of pub is probably the best. A circular walk over fields, paths, tracks and minor roads. Initially heading north east towards Sewstern before turning east and then south to Market Overton, then on to Edmondton and back to Wymondham.The pub stop on route at Market Overton is at approx 2/3 distance. It will be muddy in a few places so gaiters would be advisable.

The walk will start at Wadenhoe village hall (parking is available in the village hall car park) map/grid ref: 224/TL011833 at 10:30. Walk south through Aldwincle and Titchmarsh Lakes to lunch stop in Islip (Rose and Crown). Cross country route back to Wadenhoe and tea room at finish.

Sunday 19th February 2017 - Grafham Water
Meet at Marlow Car Park (pay and display car park cost £3) at Grafham Water Visitor Centre (1 mile west of Buckden) map/grid ref: 225/TL165681 at 10:30. A circular walk around scenic Grafham Water with a possible pub/cafe stop at West Perry. The walk is mainly on hard core cycle tracks and paths but there is also some walking on footpaths and bridleways which are likely to be muddy. This is a fairly easy walk with a few slight ups and downs yet walkers need to be capable of walking almost 10 miles.

Meet at Station Road in Caster, parking in the adjacent village streets, map/grid ref: 227/TL116987 at 10:30. This circular walk will go via Upton, Sutton, Wansford Nene Valley Railway Station, Water Newton, follows the River Nene, then through the villages of Castor and Ailsworth back to the start point.

Join the annual PYW Easter away trip this year to Shropshire. We are staying in Shrewsbury with walks of about 10 miles on Friday, Saturday and Sunday along Wenlock Edge, Stiperstones and The Long Mynd respectively. Monday will be a morning walk probably doing The Wrekin.

A circular walk from Tetford via Somersby in the southern Lincolnshire Wolds. The walk includes panoramic views of the Bluestone Heath Ridge and a visit to the birthplace of Alfred Lord Tennyson.

Details TBC: Meet at the railway station in Sandy, map/grid ref: 208/TL177487 at 10:30. We head west via Upper Caldecott and Shuttleworth airfield to Old Warden (probably lunch) and back via Northill (pub stop).
Travel options will include the train to Sandy (the current timetable has a train leaving Peterborough at 9:46 arriving at Sandy at 10:15). There is also a large Tescos by the station for purchasing of lunches and toilet stops.

A walk over the castle mound and across Mill Common to Hinchingbrooke Country Park where there will be a tea shop stop. Returning via Brampton, along the river Ouse and Port Holme. The walk will be on grassy paths and hard tracks, with several interesting features to see including an unusual nature hide.

Saturday / Sunday 16th/17th September 2017 - Hunstanton Weekend
For Saturday 16th September we will lead a walk from Old Hunstanton, starting at 11:00 from the chargeable car park next to the IRB station (also next to the Le Strange Hotel car park), map/grid ref: 250/TF682426, Golf Course Road, PE36 6JJ. Public loos here. If busy, there is alternative parking a little nearer to Hunstanton at St Edmunds Point pay & display, public loos there, too. Also possible to park on side streets around the area, with due consideration to residents access.
We will head to the sea then walk North East under the cliffs (tide permitting), before turning South, to head inland on The Peddars Way, then looping back round to head North into Holme-next-the Sea, where there is a pub stop opportunity at The White Horse, then heading North to the River Hun where we will turn South West along its banks, before heading over the cliffs back to Old Hunstanton. Depending on our arrival time, there are various refreshment opportunities in old Hunny. Walk length approx 11km or 6½ miles.
We suggest a 15:00 start for the Golf followed by fish & chips.
For Sunday 17th September, we will lead a circular walk starting from Cley-next-the Sea, starting at Cley village hall car park (large, free public car park), map/grid ref: 250/TG047434, The Fairstead, NR25 7RJ. There is a public portaloo.
We will head North to the coast then follow the coastal path eastwards until heading back inland to Salthouse, where we can have a lunch stop and/or visit The Dun Cow for a drink. Also a nice local deli style shop and a seafood café. We then carry on inland heading uphill to Salthouse Heath (National Trust), with views over the coast, also known for being a breeding site for Nightjars and Nightingales as well as various earthworks. From there we head West, before heading back North across the undulating landscape, into Cley, where there are plenty of refreshment opportunities as well as foodie shopping, galleries and artisan gift shops. Walk length approx 13km or 8 miles.

Gaiters are recommended, especially if it been raining recently. Can be cut shorter if weather becomes a problem.

This circular walk heads out via Wadenhoe Lodge and Lilford Wood to Lyveden New Bield with its links to the gunpowder plot (and tea room). We return via Titchmarsh wood and into Aldwincle and finally follow the Nene back to Wadenhoe to sample to delights of the Old Barn Tea Rooms and/or the Kings Head pub.
