Sunday 4th February 2018 - Lyddington and Eyebrook Reservoir
Meet outside The Old White Hart, Lyddington map/grid ref: 234/SP874970 at 10:30. Please park sensibly in the village. We will walk west from Lyddington heading for the reservoir, which we will circle before returning back to Lyddington. There is no pub en route, so please bring a packed lunch, and we will find a nice spot near the water.

Sunday 18th February 2018 - Houghton Ouse Valley Way Walk
Meet at National Trust cafe in front of Houghton Mill, Houghton (between Huntingdon and St. Ives) map/grid ref: 225/TL281720 at 10:30. Park in the NT car park or nearby streets. Follow the Ouse Valley Way to St Ives where there will be a lunch stop, return via Hemingford Grey and Hemmingford Abbots with an optional pub stop at the Axe and Compass, passing over Hemmingford Meadow back to Houghton (subject to water levels).

Sunday 4th March 2018 - Duddington, Northamptonshire
Meet outside The Royal Oak public house in Duddington (off the A47/A43 west of Peterborough) map/grid ref:234/SK989005 at 10:30. Please park sensibly around the village. A circular walk through Fineshade and Wakerley woods and the villages of Wakerley, Barrowden and Tixover before returning to Duddington. There are two planned stops, one at the cafe at Fineshade visitor centre and a pub stop at the Exeter Arms in Barrowden.

Sunday 18th March 2018 - Southey Wood, nr Peterborough
Meet in Southey Wood free car park on the Ufford to Upton Road (Langley Bush Road) map/grid ref: 234/TF110023 at 10:30. Nearest postcode PE6 7BF. A nice circular walk via Upton, Marholm and Castor Hanglands. There are no pubs or shops on route so you will need to bring enough food and drink for lunch and during the walk. However we may visit a nearby tea room after the walk. This is an easy walk on flat ground with no stiles.

Meet outside The Cross Keys Inn in King's Cliffe Map map/grid ref: 234/TL007971 at 10:30. Park sensibly around the village. We will walk south past Apethorpe to Southwick for lunch and a potential pub stop. We will then make our way back skirting past Tomlin and Calvey woods. The walk is on fields and through woods and can be muddy so gaiters are encouraged.

Meet at the entrance to Peterborough rowing lake car park (SatNav PE3 6LN) map/grid ref: 227/TL174985 at 19:00. A circular walk along the River Nene with a quick stop off for refreshments at Charters and returning via Orton Mere and finishing off at The Boat House. The walk is mostly level on tarmac footpaths.

We will walk past the 12th Century moated house of Weeting Castle, through Thetford Forest to the famous flint works of Grimes Graves. We will stop there for a picnic lunch and will try to make time to allow time for those interested to visit the old mines (English Heritage, an entrance fee applies).

Meet outside the Five Horseshoes Pub in Barholm, between Market Deeping and Stamford, map/grid ref: 234/TF087106 at 10:30. A circular walk via Tallington, to follow the old course of the River Welland, before joining a section of The Torpel Way, then heading into Uffington for a pub stop at The Bertie Arms. Walking back through the grounds of Casewick Hall to Barholm, with a further potential pub stop at the end of the walk. This is an easy walk, mainly flat, but there are some stiles and railway crossings.

Wednesday 20th June 2018 - Ketton Circuit Evening Walk
Meet at The Railway Inn in Ketton, map/grid ref: 234/SK981042 (PE9 3RD) at 19:00. Please park sensibly in streets nearby – it can get busy so please allow a few minutes. The walk will go along the river in the valley and also loop past the SSSI at the factory. A surprisingly varied and beautiful walk given how close it is to civilisation. We will no doubt visit the pub afterwards.

Sunday 24th June 2018 - Fen Rivers Way River Cam Linear Walk.
Meet at Waterbeach Railway Station Car Park (£2 all day or nearby street parking) map/grid ref: 225/TL500648 at 10:30. Follow the River Cam to Ely with some varied and interesting features on route. Cross the river at Bottisham Lock, then cross Bulbeck Lode at Swaffham Lock, through the Washes to a pub stop at Upware Village. Through Kingfishers Bridge Nature Reserve, Barway Village and Eau Fen before arriving in Ely. Walkers can chose from numbers of tea shops/pubs at the end of this walk before taking the train back Waterbeach (regular service £3 single).

Meet at the Millstone Inn public house in Barnack, map/grid ref: 227/TF077048 at 19:00. Please park sensibly around the village. This circular walk is across fields, some quiet roads and some stiles, out to Southorpe village and round to Hills and Holes, finishing back at The Millstone Inn for refreshments. Some of the pathways are quite overgrown so you may want to wear long trousers to avoid stinging nettles.

A circular walk taking in the villages of Great Raveley and Upwood. Possible pub stop at the Cross Keys in Upwood. There are some areas of long meadow grass and wheat fields so I would recommend covered legs.

Sunday 22 July 2018 - Barnack and Burghley Park
Meet at the Millstone Inn public house in Barnack, map/grid ref: 227/TF077048 at 19:00. Please park sensibly around the village. This walk takes us out through Hills and Holes and across arable fields along part of the Hereward Way (some stiles) an on through Burghley Park, woody areas, along the golf course and into the top of Stamford round to Burghley Lane, then Barnack Road picking up the Torpel Way and back into Barnack and refreshments at the Millstone Inn. Bring a drink and a packed lunch.

Saturday 28th July 2018 - Peterborough Hop On Hop Off Social and Walk
Join Steve as he leads us on a 7½ mile route through north Peterborough with stops at 8 of the best pubs in the area. The route/pubs are as follows:
Starting at 2pm The Stoneworks Bar followed by Charters, The Bumble Inn, The Hand and Heart, The Crown, The Frothblowers, Bluebell (Werrington) then finally finishing at the Ploughman.
If you only fancy doing a shorter walk that's fine, there will be a rough timetable and map available from Steve. Likewise the consumption of an alcoholic beverage at each pub is purely up to you. Good luck everyone!

Meet near The Eleanor Cross Geddington (near Corby), map/grid ref. 224/SP894830 (post code NN14 1AD) at 10:30. Please park sensibly in streets nearby. Starting at the Eleanor Cross (historic monument) we walk from Geddington to Brigstock then onto Stanion before returning to Geddington. This is a moderate walk with nice scenery. No pub stop on route but pubs are available at the end of the walk.

Walk out south then west to Launde Abbey for refreshments/toilets before roaming over rolling rural Rutland for afternoon pub stop at Knossington (Fox & Hounds Pub). Back via Cold Overton Wood for best views over England's smallest county (Multum in parvo). Bring your own lunch which will be partaken either before or after Launde Abbey depending on progress.

Sunday 30th September 2018 - Two circular Walks in Cambridgeshire. Morning - Woodwalton, afternoon - Broughton.
Walk 1 Monks Wood and Woodwalton.
Meet at the village green in Woodwalton, off the A1 near Sawtry, map/grid ref: 225/TL214808 (PE28 5YN) at 10:30. Roadside parking by the green, please park considerately. Heading out from the pretty village of Woodwalton and through the natural beauty of Monks Wood, this walk packs in the best of what Cambridgeshire has to offer walkers. An ancient lowland wood, home to a variety of flora and fauna, a stunning yet lonely church and a vantage point that offers an impressive view across miles fo open fen land. Woodland Tracks, field paths/tracks, no stiles but some road walking. Wet/boggy woods after rain.
10km (6½ miles).
Drive to the Crown Inn pub in Broughton for some beer flavoured beverages and a spot of lunch.
Walk 2 Broughton, Abbots Ripton Estate and Kings Ripton.

Meet at Crown Inn public house in Broughton, map/grid ref: 225/TL280777 (PE28 3AY) at 13:30. Easy walking of great variety through woodland, fields and a pleasant village. Quiet places to sit and rest. Wildlife friendly management of the Abbots Ripton Estate, so plenty of wildlife. There are dogs on the Abbots Ripton Estate which can become defensive when seeing strange dogs around, so not a walk to take your own pooch. During wet spells it gets muddy in certain areas.

Sunday 14th October 2018 - Fen Rivers Way River Cam Linear Walk Part 2.
Meet at Waterbeach Railway Station Car Park (£2 all day or nearby street parking) map/grid ref. 209/TL501648 at 10:30. Follow the River Cam to Cambridge. This is a lovely riverbank walk passing Clayhithe Farm, Horningsea, Baits Bite Lock, Fen Ditton, entering the city via Milton and then observing the many colourful boat houses before arriving in the city centre. Walkers can chose from a number of tea shops/pubs at the end of this walk and look at the many architectural delights before taking the train back Waterbeach (regular service £2.60 single).

Meet outside the Grounds cafe at Fineshade Top Lodge (off the A43 between Stamford and Corby), map/grid ref: 224/SP980983 at 10:30. There is a lay-by just before you enter Top Lodge, but if this is full, there is parking at Top Lodge for £4/day. The walk will go past Laxton Hall into Wakerley Woods, then onto Bulwick for a short pub stop before returning via Blatherwyke Lake. The Queens Head at Bulwick is re-opening that week and the publican says we can eat our sandwiches in the garden.

Sunday 25th November 2018 - Foxton Locks, Northamptonshire
Meet in the Foxton Locks Car Park (pay and display - follow the signs for Foxton Locks from the B6047 North of Market Harborough) map/grid ref: 223/SP692892 at 10:30 for a walk along the canal to Laughton returning via Gumley and the impressive flight of locks at Foxton. The walk will mostly be on canal towpaths, tracks and pasture fields. Bring lunch, there will be a pub or cafe stop at the locks near the end of the walk for drinks.

Sunday 9th December 2018 - Toft Walk and PYW Christmas Meal
Meet at the Toft Country House Hotel, between Stamford and Bourne, map/grid ref: 234/TF068171 (PE10 0JT) at 10:30. The morning walk takes us out to Lound and back again via an old railway cutting and includes some hills providing fine views over the Lincolnshire Fens, weather permitting. We return to the hotel where we have Christmas lunch booked for 13:30. Anyone wishing to do just the walk, or just the meal, is welcome to do so although we would ask that if you wish join us for the meal then please contact Julie before 10th November to book a place.

This short circular walk will be in the vicinity of the villages of Castor and Ailsworth and the route will be dependent on the ground conditions. The walk will finish at the Royal Oak Pub for those wishing to have a pint.
